Underfeed combustion system FFU
The underfeed combustion system with a double grate is particularly suitable for burning fuels containing dust, such as wood processing residues (chipboard and MDF) and sawmill residues. The stationary fire bed ensures low pollutant emissions even with fluctuating and problematic fuels. Complete insulation of the entire boiler system, along with the sophisticated wall construction of the combustion box, ensures minimal heat loss from the combustion box and thus high system efficiency.
The double-grate design (outer and inner grates) is optimally tailored to the fuel. Complete combustion of the fuel takes place on the outer grate of the combustion box. The secondary and primary air supplies can be regulated separately. Fuel can be fed into the combustion chamber from the rear, right, or left side. Depending on the fuel, the system can be operated in a fully modulating range from 25 to 100%.
Consistent Quality
A solid steel structure and the use of high-quality refractory lining guarantee reliable system availability for many years.
Thanks to frequency-controlled screw conveyors, drives, and flue gas recirculation, we guarantee the lowest possible power consumption under all system load conditions.
Selecting the Right Wood-Fired Combustion Box In addition to energy demand, the type, particle size, and moisture and ash content of the fuel are the most important factors in selecting the right combustion box. However, the annual operating hours and the annual load profile are also important factors.

Design and Function
A sophisticated design supports the in-house mass production of this high-quality product. The use of a combined internal/external grate retort (double grate) with a separate combustion air supply ensures a wide area of application for energy-efficient biomass utilization, both in the wood industry and in other industrial sectors, as well as in residential complexes and public district heating systems. The system consists of a specially designed unit for the fully automatic combustion of dry to moist shavings and wood chips. Optionally, the combustion chamber can be supplied with low NOx reduction technology for fuels with high nitrogen content. A bottom-feed screw infeed feeds the fully fireclay-lined combustion chamber. Above it is the mounted, horizontal 3-pass fire tube and smoke tube boiler in a fully insulated design.
Automatic Ash Removal
Various options are available for ash removal from the combustion chamber, cyclone, and electrostatic precipitator, depending on the fuel and ash content. Ash discharge can be performed jointly or separately. The ash is discharged into containers of up to 800 liters or into settling pits ranging from 5.5 to 12 m². Discharge into Big-Bags is also possible.
